The Holland Water Week took place in the Holland Pavilion at the World Expo in Shanghai, from 5th to 11th of June, and was visited by more than 600 guests of which a greater part Chinese representatives of companies, institutes and government officials. The Dutch delegation was led by the vice-governor of the Province of Zuid-Holland, Lenie Dwarshuis-Van de Beek, and included 45 members.

To present the Dutch water education programmes during the Holland Water Week (www.hollandwaterweek.com), an innovative student event is initiated by the Netherlands Water Partnership. After a thorough preparation seventeen students from Dutch universities[1] will not only represent the Dutch water education programs, they will also participate in groups with their Chinese counterparts[2] to gather innovative and co-creative solutions for some selected cases.

An excellent water sector cannot do without excellent education programs at the bachelor, master and PhD level. For this reason the water education sector is an integral part of the overall showcase of Dutch water excellence.

As part of Holland Water Week at the World Expo 2010, the City of Rotterdam will co-operate with the Shanghai Water Authority in organizing the Shanghai-Rotterdam Water Conference on 10 June.
